Dear Friends of Oak Tree Ministries –
The computer connection kept crackling, video and sound both going in and out. We worked from two sites thousands of miles apart, and in a time crunch. And God showed up.
My friend told me she struggled around other people, taking on their personality and behaviors while hers faded into the background. Being around others was harder and harder. The Spirit prompted a quick question … had her mom lost another baby before she was conceived. Yes, to an abortion. And mom let her know in so many words that she was a replacement for that first child. She was living for another.
We asked Jesus to step into that conception moment, and those replacement thoughts and feelings from mom. And He did. God, Who has loved her and known her from before time itself stepped in (Eph. 1:4.) He gently severed her from her mom’s thoughts, and stepped in between her and her mom, told her His dreams and desires for her, loved her for herself. And it all fell away.
I talked to her the next week, and she shared that everything … everything … from that stuff was gone. She’d been able to be around friends and with others in complete freedom to just be herself.
In total I’m thinking we only spent about 20 minutes praying through that. God is so good!!!
Thank you for continuing to pray for us and for the ministry. We’ve felt it.
As you pray this month, please remember the following …
… Delta Healing Rooms was set to re-open with some modifications on July 16, but our county put out new health orders early that week that prevented us from doing so (International Association of Healing Rooms has been clear in directions to follow county guidance.) We’ve continued with phone ministry. Please pray with us as we look for the best ways to minister within current environments!
… Pray for the family. We’re still working through things with AJ in Redding. Custody issues right now are headed back to court … we believe the children belong in Redding. We’re praying for a quick and good resolution. The kids have actually formed some wonderful new friendships the last month through the family camp we attended early in July and through the home church gathering. And they are actually going to get to go back to school in person in a couple of weeks. We appreciate your prayers for all of this!!!
… on a positive note, we’re praising God that all of the 4 grandkids have prayed to ask Jesus into their hearts now! Over the last couple of months Auntie Jen has been able to lead the two youngest into that relationship (and she did that with the older two last year.)
… Jen has been working part-time for a friend, and also has been strongly encouraged by some new friends to launch out into marketing some home and family organization products and ideas. Pray with us about that, too!
… and please pray for the people I counsel and minister to regularly. Several this past month have gone very near total breakdowns. A lot of that is due to the isolation right now from Covid19 stuff, and much is due to deep issues that have gone unaddressed for way too many years. Pray with me for each of them. And pray for my wisdom in helping.
We are so grateful for each of you. Thank you for your prayers!
